What’s a competition without rules and regulations?
Read them carefully and obey them like, we mean it ESPECIALLY if you want to win.
1. Participants interested in joining the Junior Manga Challenge 2008, must REGISTER and pay a non-refundable Registration Fee of RM10, by the 31st of August 2008, no later than 6pm.
2. This competition is open to all primary and secondary schools in Malaysia, including those of international and private schools. Students whose parents are from overseas and currently working in Malaysia are also welcome to participate in JMC2008.
3. Each participant is welcome to submit as many entries as he/she wishes. The manga must contain a minimum of 1 page. There are no maximum number of pages that you can submit.
4. All submissions must be in original copy.
5. If you are planning to print out a digital manga, mangas are to be printed using the recommended .TIF format to ensure the highest quality print.
6. All entries must come attached with the SUBMISSION FORM, CREATOR’S DETAILS FORM.
7. All entries that are to be submitted through the school must fill in an additional SCHOOL INFORMATION FORM that must be attached with all the entries.
8. All entries must be no larger than an A4 sized sheet of paper. Entries that do not meet this criteria and are inappropriate for display will be automatically disqualified.
- Dimensions: 21.0 x 29.7 cm, A4 minimum, 300 dpi. (or minimum 200dpi) Landscape/portrait setting.
- All entries are to be in black and white OR full-color.
- Artwork can either be drawn digitally with ANY SOFTWARE or drawn manually.
- All manually drawn artwork must be scanned into digital format. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification.
9. By entering this competition, all entrants agree that Junior Manga Challenge 2008 and the organisers cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of artwork.
10. By entering this competition, the organisers strongly encourage all entrants to exhibit their creations by means of publication through the organisers. Organisers will only proceed once entrants agree and grant the organisers the permission by signing in the Submission Form.
11. Be entering the Junior Manga Challenge 2008, all entrants agree that Junior Manga Challenge 2008 and the organizers cannot be held responsible for any copyright breach, plagiarism or legal infringement.
12. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and not to be tolerated. Any entry found to be copied, traced or modified from work previously created and published in any format and is found NOT to be the entrant’s original work (unless clearly stated that it is a Fan Fiction) will be immediately disqualified.
13. All ideas and designs must be an original creation and should not have been entered or awarded a prize in other previous competitions.
14. Pornographic images or other disturbing images unsuitable for public exhibition is strictly prohibited and if found, will be automatically disqualified.
15. All entries are to be submitted in the ENGLISH and BAHASA MALAYSIA language only.
16. The organisers retain the right to alter the terms and conditions at any point up to 2 weeks before the judging without prior notice.
17. All disqualifications and disputes over eligibility for participation and/or winning a prize will be settled at the judges and organizers discretion. All decisions taken will be final.

19. Deadline for submission is 1ST OF DECEMBER, NO LATER THAN 6PM. Submissions that arrive later than the date and time stated above will be automatically disqualified.
